It is being increasingly used to determine the Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) by just analyzing the breath sample of the subject. ALCO SCAN 6000 has been approved by D.O.T. / NHTSA, and has a detection range of 0.00% BAC to 0.40% BAC (the legal limit is 0.08% BAC). The product has won great appreciation both from the private users such as schools, institutions, individual users and law-enforcement agencies such as highway patrol police.

Stepwise usage method of ALCO-SCAN 6000 (referred as “unit”) would show how easy it is to use:

1. Switch on the unit. After only 20 seconds, the unit is ready to use. The countdown is shown on LCD panel so that you know when the unit is ready to be used.
2. The subject blows into the unit through a special mouthpiece for about four seconds.
3. The unit analyzes the breath sample collected for about six seconds.
4. The unit displays the results for 10 seconds on a brightly lit LCD panel.

ALCO SCAN 6000 stands apart from its competitors in giving highly accurate results. It has a special hi-tech semiconductor type gas sensor attuned specially for alcoholic breath to give you most accurate results. Therefore, you are assured that no other types of gases or aromas present affect the results of ALCO SCAN 6000. The unit has helpful features such as a cumulative test counter and specialized notification messages. Care should be taken not to breath cigarette smoke or any other type of smoke directly into the unit.

Mouthpieces to be used with ALCO-SCAN 6000 have been specially designed to easily inject breath into the unit, and are sealed in individual plastic bags for hygiene reasons.

ALCO-SCAN 6000 operates on two simple AA batteries with batteries replacement needed only after 200-300 tests. It comes in an attractive leather pouch with a hand strap and a user guide. The unit is very handy and can be carried around easily to be used anywhere. Detection Procedure for AlcoScan 6000 Breathalyzer Unit:

• Module warm-up times: On initial power-on: 20 seconds, thereafter, 10 seconds until unit automatically turns off.
• After warm-up, 4 seconds of blowing time. Processing/Analysis for 4~6 seconds. (Module analyzes even if the user did not blow)
• Module is turned off after the analyzed data is received. Analyzed data is displayed for 10 seconds.
• Warm-up, blowing, and display times above are optimized for the best accuracy. Reducing any of these values can result in loss of accuracy.
