Illicit drugs obviously bring ill consequences to the abusers. What’s more drug addicted people should seek rehab program for fast recovery and to prevent fatal.

Urine drug screen is one of the tools to measure the level of drug addicted in a person. Urine drug testing helps to determine the level of drugs effectively because metabolites are excreted via urine. Urine drug test can be classified in to two major types, type of urine test are

· Enzyme multiplied immunoassay test (EMIT)

· GC/MS

EMIT is the immuno assay technique where it employs antibody to detect the presence of drug in the urine. Antibodies which are specially designed are attached to the drug metabolites found in the sample and produce a color change in the sample. From the color change result can be interpreted as either positive or negative.

Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry is the second commonly used method in urinanalysis. The principle behind the GC/Ms is that it separates the components in the urine and vaporized which are analyzed by the spectrometry. It is the quantitative test for drugs in urine drug testing. The results are obtained in the form of spectral peak.

Urinalysis testing is widely employed in schools, companies and medical institutes. Urine drug testing will tests for marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates and PCP. Urine test results are confirmed by the gas chromatographic /MS techniques with 97% accuracy.
