Drug addiction in work place leads to mishandling of the machines and unsteady work. This may lead to lot of injuries for the workers. Some states have imposed a law for drug testing at work place. Knowing the importance of drug testing at work place, drug testing is conducted randomly or with prior information. After that urine samples are transported to the laboratory for chemical analysis. It involves immuno technology which is followed by the quantitative analysis – gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. This reveals the accurate level of drug in the sample. Adulteration of the sample could be found out in the preliminary test for physical properties of the urine. More over adulterated sample will not be accepted by the GC and MS instrument. Drug screening kits can also be used which reduces the risks of adulterating the sample. On site drug test uses drug testing kits in order to prevent sample adulteration. Onsite drug testing can be conducted without any prior information and are based on random drug testing.
