Post Incident Drug Testing Will Protect the Liability of the Company
Drug use in terms of addiction is quite common in western countries and which is widely spreading in the United States. The usage of drugs in those countries embraces the corporate and they are prepared to tackle the problem with drug testing. To determine the presence or absence of a drug or its metabolites in the specimen of blood, urine, saliva the drug testing is done.
The post incident testing also known as post accident drug screening is not much popular but for financial matters this test is performed in most of the companies over their employees after an accident or an incident occurs for probable prescription drug abuse.
This will protect the liability of the company. In testing if drug or alcohol is found then the company will sue the employee as their accident or injury is caused by intoxication for which the company is not liable to pay for accidents related to drug use and abuse.
The companies ask the employees to provide oral, urine and hair samples to check the substances to identify the effects of prescription drug abuse or effects of drug abuse which are affecting performance of the employee. The drug and alcohol policy describes that the drug testing should be conducted in four ways, the random test, during the employment, follow ups and for some cause. Generally the pre employment drug testing gives the idea about the employee after the preliminary interview. The cause can be varies, like the moral, character of the employee etc can be detected by performing the drug test. It also helps to take rehabilitating measure for the employee. The post incident in drug testing may affect the employee if it is detected. However, if they have been sober they need not worry about the same.
