Pregnancy Testing - Best To Check It After 45 Days
A pregnancy test is usually done to determine if a woman is pregnant or not. Usually a woman can feel the symptoms of pregnancy by herself. Nausea, vomiting, giddiness and sleepiness are the main symptoms of pregnancy. But pregnancy can be confirmed only after 45 days from the last period. Gynecologist suggests a urine test and blood test. She may also do a pelvic examination.
False positive pregnancy test is rare, but can happen. The cause of false positive drug test is mainly attributed to contamination of the sample and inappropriate handling of the testing kit.
A false pregnancy test can sometimes show negative even for positive results. Well, this will not happen if you follow the instructions properly and if the test kits are in proper condition. Choose a good brand of home pregnancy test and it might not be an issue.
Before going to a gynecologist, pregnancy can be confirmed by a very simple method. By using a pregnancy testing kit, which is available in drug store, pregnancy can be confirmed immediately within few seconds. This test can be done at home without any clinical assistance. It detects the presence of pregnancy hormone in the urine, called as beta subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin or usually called as beta subunit hCG. The first urine of the day should be only used for the test as it may contain more beta subunit hCG. When two drops of urine is placed on the strips, if the urine color changes it is positive. Sometimes there may be a false result which can be a sign of false pregnancy.
The answer early pregnancy result test might not be appropriate if you take the test too early.
If the urine test is positive, gynecologist must be seen for pelvic examination. The main purpose of this examination is to determine the size of the uterus, tubes and ovaries and determines the growth of the pregnancy. Radioimmunoassay or beta subunit hCG, is done with the blood sample to check for any complications in the pregnancy with the help of amount of beta subunit HCG present in the blood.
